Relationship Agreements & Ethical
Non-Monogamy Counselling
A calm, respectful space for individuals and couples who are exploring ethical non-monogamy, open relationships, or Lifestyle experiences, and who want to approach conversations about boundaries, consent, emotional safety, communication, and relationship agreements with more care and clarity.

Who this is for
This work is for individuals and couples who are navigating ethical non-monogamy, open relationships, relationship agreements, or Lifestyle experiences, and who want support in speaking about these areas with honesty and care.
You may be at the beginning of exploring non-monogamy, already involved in the Lifestyle, renegotiating existing agreements, or trying to understand whether this relationship structure feels safe, respectful, and sustainable for you.
This work may be helpful where there are questions around boundaries, consent, jealousy, insecurity, emotional overwhelm, desire differences, communication difficulties, broken agreements, secrecy, trust strain, or uncertainty about what each partner truly wants.
Online counselling is available for clients in Portugal, South Africa, and internationally. Sessions are available in English and Afrikaans.
What sessions focus on
Sessions focus on helping you slow the conversation down and understand what is happening beneath the surface.
This may include exploring relationship agreements, emotional safety, consent, boundaries, expectations, sexual health conversations, jealousy, comparison, reassurance, repair after difficult experiences, or the difference between privacy and secrecy.
The aim is not to persuade anyone toward or away from ethical non-monogamy. The focus is on helping you understand your relationship more clearly, communicate more honestly, and make choices that are respectful, informed, and aligned with each person’s values and boundaries.
How counselling works here
Counselling may involve one partner, both partners, or a couple seeking support for clearer, safer conversations.
For couples, the work is usually treated as a shared process, with both partners attending. In some situations, individual check-ins may be discussed in advance, but these are held carefully so that the work continues to support the relationship process rather than creating secrecy or imbalance.
The work remains structured, respectful, and focused on communication, consent, emotional safety, boundaries, and the relationship dynamic rather than blame.
Clear expectations around confidentiality, fairness, and the counselling process are discussed at the start so that each person understands how the work will be held.

When this may not be the right setting
This counselling may not be the right setting where there is active coercive control, current domestic abuse, immediate safety concerns, severe untreated addiction, acute psychiatric instability, sexual coercion, or situations requiring legal, medical, crisis, or emergency intervention.
It may also not be appropriate where one partner is being pressured into non-monogamy, sexual experiences, or relationship agreements they do not freely want.
Where another kind of support would be more appropriate, this will be discussed openly and respectfully.
Single Session Option
For some individuals or couples, it feels more manageable to begin with a single session rather than committing to a longer process from the outset.
This option offers a calm, confidential space to begin speaking about what feels confusing, strained, exciting, uncertain, or difficult to name. It may help you clarify the main concerns, understand where communication has become stuck, and consider what kind of support or conversation may be needed next.
A single session can help bring early clarity to questions around boundaries, consent, agreements, emotional safety, jealousy, communication, trust, or whether a particular relationship structure feels workable.
What is included
-
1 online counselling session
-
space to speak about the current concern in a structured and respectful way
-
support in clarifying the main pattern or difficulty
-
consideration of possible next steps, where appropriate
A structured support option
Some individuals or couples feel more comfortable beginning with a more structured process rather than taking it one session at a time.
For this reason, a support package is also available. It is intended for clients who would benefit from several sessions to explore communication, boundaries, consent, relationship agreements, emotional safety, repair, and decision-making with more steadiness.
Relationship Agreements Support Package
The Couple Package includes 3 online couples counselling sessions and offers a steadier starting point for couples who want support in understanding recurring patterns, improving communication, and approaching the relationship with greater clarity and care.
What is included:
• 3 online counselling sessions
• written feedback after each session
• brief check-ins between sessions where appropriate
• supportive communication, boundary, and relationship agreement reflections
This option may be helpful for individuals or couples who would prefer a more contained and supported beginning to the work.
A note on pace
Some people arrive feeling ready to speak openly straight away. Others arrive feeling unsure, guarded, tender, or emotionally tired. Both are understandable.
This work moves at a pace that is steady and respectful, while still helping difficult patterns, questions, and emotions become clearer.
