Cecilia Engelbrecht
Relationship and Intimacy Counsellor
I offer online relationship and intimacy counselling for adults and couples who may be navigating communication difficulties, desire differences, emotional disconnection, relationship transitions, and intimacy-related concerns. My work is grounded, respectful, and supportive, with a focus on helping people understand patterns more clearly, communicate more honestly, and move forward with greater steadiness and connection.
My background includes education and psychology, together with specialised training in intimacy work, couples counselling, and sexual concerns. I care deeply about offering support that is thoughtful, inclusive, and professionally grounded. I also value clear boundaries, ongoing learning, and creating a space where clients feel warmly treated, respected, and cared for.

How I work
My counselling style is reflective, structured, and non-judgemental. I aim to offer a calm space where people can speak honestly about what feels painful, stuck, confusing, or disconnected. Where it is useful, I also work in practical ways that help clients understand recurring patterns, improve communication, rebuild emotional safety, and make more thoughtful relational decisions.
Who I work best with
I work well with adults and couples who are struggling with communication, intimacy concerns, emotional distance, desire differences, relational uncertainty, or important relationship transitions. This may include couples who feel stuck in painful patterns, individuals trying to make sense of adult relationship dynamics, people navigating consensual non-monogamy thoughtfully, and adults adjusting after separation or divorce.
What clients can expect
Clients can expect a warm, steady, and respectful space where their experiences are taken seriously. My role is not to rush people, judge them, or offer one-size-fits-all answers. It is to support clearer understanding, healthier communication, stronger boundaries, and more grounded ways of moving through relational and intimacy-related difficulties.
Qualifications, training & accreditation
My training includes a background in education and psychology, together with further study and professional development in intimacy work, couples counselling, trauma-informed approaches, and related areas of support.

I offer counselling, not medical, psychiatric, or emergency care. Where concerns fall outside the scope of this practice, I may recommend other forms of support, including medical, psychiatric, legal, or specialist help. I believe good counselling includes knowing its limits and being honest about when a different or additional kind of support may be needed.
